Program Description

The PRGA is striving to eliminate the cliché that golf is a sport for the rich.  “Golf Para Todos” is a program with the mission to expand the game of golf to everyone in P.R., thus get away from the elitism the sport tends to bring.  The program will target kids from lower income and public housing families.  We will be conducting golf clinics teaching the basics of the swing, rules, and etiquette at different golf clubs.  Local golf professionals as well as professionals that belong to the Island Chapter of the South Florida Section of the PGA of America will be the instructors.

They will also be assisted by PRGA staff and Board members, volunteers, and P.R National Amateur and Junior Team members.  Kids that show a keen interest in the game will be given the opportunity to take more private lessons and to be part of the PRGA Junior Program and participate in junior tournaments.

Community Service Program - "Golf Para Todos"

PRGA Programs have been developed to promote the game of golf among the people in Puerto Rico.
Community Service Program - 'Golf Para Todos'
The PRGA Community Service Program began in 2001 with the idea of teaching golf to youngsters from low-income families. Clinics have been conducted with students from different public schools in Puerto Rico, with the Boys & Girls Club for Las Margaritas Sector, and with a Head Start Program in Yabucoa. With this program we have been able to reach hundreds of kids who otherwise would have probably never learned about the game of golf.

More clinics and activities are in the agenda for this year. If you are interested in participating in this program or you would like to help the PRGA staff as a volunteer in some of the clinics, please contact the PRGA office at 787.793.3444. The PRGA believes in "Taking Golf To Outer Limits" and bringing golf to all the people.

If your school is interested in participating in this program, please prepare a formal proposal establishing the reasons you want to have a golf clinic in your school and how golf could benefit students in your area. We are in the process of organizing our next clinic, and your school could be the next.

Your proposal may be submitted to the PRGA office by mail to the following address:
